Intern Spotlight: Mindy Weingaertner

Joining our Human Resources and Marketing team this summer is Mindy Weingaertner. Mindy is a rising junior at the University of Washington studying at the Michael G. Foster School of Business and deciding her major between finance or accounting.

Mindy graduated from Bellevue High School in 2021, where she was an avid lacrosse player, playing for the successful Bellevue High team. Mindy has continued her passion for lacrosse playing for the UW club team, while also returning to coach the Bellevue High Junior Varsity team. Mindy is involved in the Gamma Phi Beta sorority at UW where she oversees new member education, as well as volunteers for Girls on the Run.

Outside of school, Mindy enjoys traveling and spending lots of time with friends and family.

WHAT INSPIRES YOU?

Seeing hardworking people make it far in life.

What is your role this summer?

I started out under Stephanie in the HR department as well as the Marketing department with Angie.

What has been your favorite part during your internship with Prime 8 so far?

I have loved getting to work with and meet so many different people. Coming into this internship, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do or what my strengths were, and this has helped me grow and gain clarity for my future.

Why did you choose to pursue an internship with Prime 8?

I chose to pursue an internship because I loved what it had to offer. I'm not totally sure what I want to do career wise, and it's given me the opportunity to explore different areas of the business and learn from so many people.

What would you say to another potential intern considering an internship with Prime 8?

I would say to take advantage of this opportunity as much as possible. It's an amazing chance to grow and meet so many people, everyone at Prime 8 is there to support you so don't be hesitant to ask questions.

What is your major and why did you choose it?

I am planning on majoring in accounting, I chose it because I like working with numbers and it’s a major that is very applicable in the business world.

What was your dream job when you were growing up? What is your dream job now?

My dream job growing up was to be a teacher, now my dream job is to work somewhere that makes me happy and allows me to surround myself with people that will motivate me.

What do you enjoy most about summer?

I enjoy getting to spend time with family and friends without having to worry about school.
